Clarke Quay and Hippo River Cruise

After another rough night with Juliana, she was exhausted this morning and still had a very high temperature. This changed our plans for the day, because we decided to leave her home for another day of rest and time for the medication to kick in.

Here she is enjoying some snacks while Nanny ate some breakfast... Shortly after, she passed out on Nana's lap...
After putting Juliana down for a nap and making sure she was settled for the afternoon, we headed out to Clarke Quay. Here's the clan once we got there... Jessica and I by one of the many CQ signs...My mom and Nana enjoying the view of the river while crossing the bridge... Same for Jess and I...First stop was one of our favorite places, Brewertz for some delicious food and good beer!Enjoying some of the Organic Pilsner made right on the premises with my cousin...After we were fed, we headed over to the Hippo River Cruise to buy our tickers and get on board the boat for a nice ride down the Singapore River.

This is the view of the restaurant we ate at from the river...

Here is what one of the boats looks like...Having a blast!!!
OK, so Jess might kill me for this picture, but it was hilarious!! Not only is her face priceless, by my grandmother looks so HAPPY!
My mom enjoying the ride too...
Great view of Boat Quay...
My mom and I are standing at the front of the boat with the skyline behind us. Gorgeous!
This is one of the many famous sculptures in Singapore. It shows five kampongh boys made from bronze jumping into the river. As with everything else in the city, it holds significant meaning and represents, "The simple and happy lifestyle once of people once living along the Singapore River."
This is a perfect view of one of Singapore's Merlions! According to wikipedia, the Merlion is, "An imaginary creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish. Its name combines "mer" meaning the sea and lion. The fish body comes from Singapore's ancient name back when it was a fishing village, Temasek, meaning sea town in Jaynese. The lion head represents Singapore's original name, Singapura, meaning "lion city" or "kota singa" in Sanskrit and Malay.
A gorgeous view of the city skyline from the river...
We kept asking the guides questions about Marina bay and all of the construction, so they showed us this article. Apparently, this is what the Casino will look like once it's completed...
This is an outdoor theater at Marina Bay where lots of concerts and shows take place. It's just outside of the Esplanade, so there's always something going on at night time.
A gorgeous view of Clark Quay from the boat...
We had a wonderful time and plan to return to Clark Quay this weekend (hopefully!) so that everyone can see it when it's all lit up. There is also another surprise in store, but I'll keep that a secret for now!

This evening, after dinner, Juliana had a TON of energy to work off, so we all went out on the terrace. Here she is riding around...
Stopping to smell the flowers... Chilling with Nanny...
And of course, I'm enjoying my time with my mom too...
Today was yet another great day filled with sightseeing, shopping and fun. As the week goes on though, I am dreading the day that they have to leave :-( I wish I could just freeze time, but I can only make the most of what time we have left. Hopefully we'll have some good weather in order to enjoy some more of the outdoor activities I had planned!!
