My little cleaner

For those of you that know me well, you are well aware that I'm a bit obsessive compulsive and like to clean way too much (weird, I know). So it's no surprise that I got Juliana this adorable cleaning set a few months ago and that she loves it! Lately, she's been pushing the cart around, using the spray bottles to clean and pulling out the mop and broom to clean the floors...
Then daddy had to chase her around so we could hear her boisterous laughter!
Hey, at least for now I know that I can ask Juliana to help with the chores, although I know that won't last as she gets older. For now though, she will help vacuum the floors and sweep. What's next, laundry?

Oh, I guess I have to share!

Juliana is at the age that she likes candy now, sigh. Now I guess I have to share my beloved twizzlers too...
Part of the problem is that gummy bears are one of her treats when she uses the potty and she also got lots of them while we were using the advent calendar. The only tough part is that all the best candy is back in the U.S. and if we can actually find it out here, it's ridiculously expensive. So here's my hint to those people who like sending us packages: candy! Hehe...

I'm sure Camille will appreciate this one too since she loves her twizzlers like me!

KL day two!

I couldn't believe it when I looked at the clock on Sunday morning to see what time Juliana finally woke up...nearly 9:00am! She must have been pooped from day one of KL, so she got lots of sleep for next day. We got ready and headed up to the Sky Lounge for breakfast. It was delicious and of course, the view of the towers was nice to eat by as well...
I just love this picture. Juliana loves the girls so much and they are so wonderful with her! Sue Lynn had the best caption: "Daddy look, my new best friend!"
Good company, good food. It was a buffet too, so I filled up on coffee, Jacob filled up on food and Juliana filled up on star cereal and corn flakes...yum!
As you can see, she was a VERY happy girl!
Nothing beats a view like this to start the day...
We decided to leave all of our stuff at the hotel and head to Chinatown for a visit before checking out and heading back to SG. We took the train and here we are making our way to the markets...
It was a lot like Singapore's Chinatown with the shops and hawker stands, but enjoyable of course and we got a few nice souvenirs...
The flower arrangements were beautiful! I especially loved the orchid wreaths...
A few more pictures from streets... After the shopping was done, we checked out of the hotel and Juliana made her wish at the well...
Then we had a good lunch at the Sky Lounge before packing ourselves into the car for the ride back...
I wish we had more time at the Ascott, because the pool was nice and the view from the 22nd floor was amazing!
It was such a great trip and we are very grateful to Sue Lynn and Mun Cheong for driving and enjoying the sites with us!!

The towers and KLCC

After we left the hotel, we walked outside to the beautiful view of the towers before walking over to KLCC...
We had a good meal to fill our bellies and then enjoyed the enormous shopping centre. Juliana loved their Christmas decorations...
A view of the whole scene from above...
She got a short nap in while the rest of us ate, so she was revived and ready to explore...
Here's a view of the towers from just below, where we were standing and admiring. In the middle is the sky bridge connecting them on the 41st and 42nd floors, which is the highest two story bridge in the world. Something that makes the bridge unique is that it's not directly bolted to the main structures. Instead, the bridge was designed as a separate structure so that it could move in and out of the two towers, for protection during high winds, storms, etc.
I wish I could express how gorgeous they are, but it's so hard to do with pictures! The eighty-eight floor towers were constructed over a period of seven years, primarily using reinforced concrete, with a steel and glass facade.
Had to throw this picture in...she's enjoying the water of course!
I just love how happy she was...
Here are the rest of the travelers!!
Here we are, heading back in to the hotel after a great day of sight seeing! Check out the lovely Christmas tree made out of Heineken bottles...
None of the night pictures we took do the towers any justice, but here we are...
And just to show how beautiful it really is, here's a picture from the web of the towers at night all lit up...
When we got into our room, it took a bit for Juliana to adjust to going to sleep in a giant bed, but once she was out, Jacob and I got to enjoy some time together in the living room before joining her for some rest. By the way, that bed was really comfy!!!

Getting to Kuala Lumpur

This past weekend, we headed up to KL with Sue Lynn, Mun Cheong, Eden and Bethel for an over night visit. Here's a brief history lesson to go with the picture to the left that I pulled off the internet: Kuala Lumpur is the capital and the largest city of Malaysia. The most recent population record I could find was from 2006 with a whopping 1.6 million people, so I'm sure it's grown since then! It's rated as an alpha world city and is the home of the Petronas Twin Towers (Malay: Menara Berkembar Petronas). These towers were the world's tallest buildings from 1998 to 2004 if measured from the level of the main entrance to the structural top, before being surpassed by Taipei 101. This was our major reason for visiting KL of course, but we also got to see some of the city, the KLCC center, Chinatown and stay at a magnificent hotel thanks to Sue Lynn...the Ascott!!

So, this picture was the view from the hotel that we stayed at. The towers really were beautiful...
On the drive up, Juliana did really well in the car, watched some movies and surprisingly, didn't nap at all! The picture below was taken at a rest stop and she got some of her energy out...
Such a happy traveler this time around...
The hotel was even nicer than I anticipated and here we are in the lobby while checking in...
Juliana was so happy to be there! The excitement of something new and plenty of quality family time...
Once we got into our room, which was a full apartment really, with a kitchen, living room and master bedroom, Juliana went crazy exploring the place! She loved the laundry basket...
Then had a ball on the king sized bed, rolling around and yes, we let her jump! Hey, it was a vacation... She then asked for the basket again, so I brought it out from the bathroom for her enjoyment... Once all of us were unpacked and settled, we headed over to KLCC - Kuala Lumpur City Centre. More posts to come!

Christmas Dinner at Jennifer and Justin's

It was a wonderful Christmas dinner filled with new traditions that we will remember for many years to come. Jenn and Toby in collaboration with Jennifer and Justin hosted a Christmas dinner at their place (Jennifer and Justin's). Jenn provided the Turkey and the rest was potluck style, so we all brought side dishes and desserts. It was a delicious meal and the kids had a blast running around and playing!

Dinner table all set and ready to eat... Juliana didn't eat a ton, but she did all right considering the commotion going on, She didn't want to miss out on any of the fun...
Yummy, cake time! (Oh and yes, I made this cake all by myself :-)
Thank you Elyse, Jenn and Toby for the pez dispenser!
They were doing some swimming inside I guess!!
Once again, it was another lovely evening with good food and good company. We're just grateful that we got to spend Christmas with some wonderful friends!
Well, we leave bright any early tomorrow morning for Kuala Lumpur, but I'll write all about it when we get back. Have a wonderful holiday weekend everyone!

Santa Claus came

Posing by the tree before she started digging in to the gifts... Awwww, don't we look so cute at little rein deers? She's much more adorable though!
Here's her Mickey Mouse retractable sword that lights up. Look, out, it can be dangerous if she's not paying attention! But oh well, she loved it...
OK, so there was just no possible way of me capturing every gift she opened, since there was so many, especially from her Nana and Nanny. So I made collages to make it a little easier and then chose the best pictures to post separately. So here she is opening books, toys, a little people set, a Dora pillow case and a dress up Minnie mouse! There were just a few of the many treasures she had in store...
She also got (between Nana, Nanny, Mommy, Daddy and Santa) new accessories for her Mrs. Goodbee house, new hair clips, lots of paints and arts kits and so much more. Yeah, did I mentioned that she was spoiled??!!!!

After opening some gifts, we got a break to talk to my family back home. My mom and Nana were at my aunt's house, so Juliana got to see Nana, Nanny, Jessica, Corey, Danny, Uncle Jeff and Auntie Cheryl! She was singing and dancing for them and even opened a couple gifts while they watched. I'm so glad we got to say hi to them and wish them a Merry Christmas. We also got to talk to my Auntie Donna and brother yesterday, which was really nice.
So here's Juliana entertaining them on skype, showing off her new toy and shortly afterwards, she put on a dancing and singing show...
Next up was gifts from Auntie Donna and her cousin Mike. She really like the Tigger book and stuffed animal as you can see at the bottom with the giant smile on her face. I also adored the gorgeous outfit and can't wait until she firs into it!
Nest up was opening a few from Mémère and Howie with Jacob. She got the new Tinker Bell movie, which I know she has been very excited about as well as some more fairies...
Who could have imagined that Disney would have so many different types of fairies? But she loves then all and they each get lots of attention...
There was a lot of excitement over all the new toys, books, movies, figurines, arts and crafts and so much more! It will be keeping us busy over the next few weeks...
When all the gits were opened, Juliana had a little chat with Mr. Efl...maybe she was sending a message back to Santa? Who knows, but it was cute!
After lunch, she took a good nap (surprising after an exciting morning!) before heading over to Jennifer's for a delicious Christmas dinner. That post will follow.
Merry Christmas everyone! We miss you all and love you lots. XOXO
