OK, so we leave for the U.S. in less than a week now and the calendar for our visit is already filling up very fast...just under three weeks and it's definitely not enough time to do everything and see everyone!!
We've already got weddings to attend, one of which turns into an overnight (yay for that!), a second birthday for our precious girl to celebrate with as many people as we can even though we leave on her birthday ::sadness:: and then all the visits to friends, family, restaurants we have missed for the last year, errands and important things like renew Jacob's passport and visit the bank. It's overwhelming, scary and exciting!! I wish I could skip over some parts and just do all the fun stuff, but of course, we haven't been home in a year, so the trip also includes visits to storage, health check ups and a few other not-so-fun events. Ah well, there will be lots of fun to overshadow the rest :-)
As for the looooooong flight with a toddler, I have no idea what to expect! We have gotten a few new toys for the flight she hasn't seen yet, will be stocking up on DVDs, toys, and food then praying for the best. After the last few days of Juliana testing us, I'm not feeling so optimistic, but maybe, just maybe, she'll prove me wrong!
All of those who have taken that flight are welcome to give me any advice of what worked for you. I've gotten lots already from moms of toddlers, but I am open to more! Come next week, wish us luck :-)

My best advice - let her eat (or not eat) whatever she wants the entire trip home...it's just one day out of her life and if pretzels and sprite do the trick for 24 hours then so be it! We break all the rules when we travel and let the kids get spoiled for a while. Hope the trip goes smoothly and you have a wonderful time in the states.
