Gym Camp

Update on Juliana! She had Little Gym Camp this morning and Jean took her since I was otherwise occupied. It was her first time back to the Gym for a few months (she was last there at the beginning of June I believe) and I got word that she had a BLAST!

For the camps, there's always lots of kids, lots of fun and even a short break for a snack and an art activity. Jean told me that Juliana has so much fun with all of the other kids, and thoroughly enjoyed playing on all of the equipment. I think we'll be signing her up for Little Gym next term. Budding gymnast like her mommy? Maybe :-)

The foam stick...great toy! She looks like she's doing a karate move...Ball and stick, look out kids! I'm just going to assume this is Peak-a-boo, so cute... I know this picture is a little grainy, but look at the priceless smile! Loves those mats! Those are the marks for where to put your hands for a forward roll, which she is very good at now... Ah, her favorite piece of equipment, the bars. In fact, Jean said that she kept going back to the bars over and over again. I'm not surprised, since she tries to turn counter tops, the desk, the closet rod, the bookshelves and anything else she can into her own personal bar to hang from!

Lastly, I also just wanted to share this adorable picture that Jacob took yesterday. She's got her Dora necklace pushed up into her hair...instant headband!

Daddy & Juliana's trip to the park!

Today was day 1 of my TESOL course...rough morning, but I made it and early at that! Nine more days to go....I hope! There are ten students all together and the teacher is really interesting and energetic. I am the only American in the class, so there's a good mixture of people from other cultures, including Australia, Vietnam, Japan and the UK. I like it, because while I'm learning the course's content, I also get to learn interesting facts about other countries, their cultures, dialects and customs. I can tell it's going to be a wonderful eye-opening experience!

So, while I was in class, Jacob and Juliana spent the part of the day at the Chinese Gardens. As soon as I saw the pictures, I was so jealous!! She looks like she had a blast and enjoyed her rare alone time with her daddy :-)

"I'm at the top of the world!" She is actually pretty high! As a dad, he was okay with it. As a mom, I don't know if I would have been. Better him that me, I guess.

She likes those bridges! Apparently, she now calls this one the "Troll Bridge," just like the one in Dora the Explorer!! Obsessed much? Yup, but it makes her happy :-) and that's what matter most!

Checking out the smaller fish...Looks like they had a good day and I'm sad to have missed it. But nine more days and I'll have a certificate and a lot more time for Juliana once again!

Art time

Yesterday was Friday, so Juliana got to go to her Art Class at Gymboree. She looks so adorable in this picture with her waterfall ponytail...

She's such a little artist! Spending as lot more time at home with play dough, coloring, building blocks, paints, etc. So many different talents :-)

The Tanglin Tree

This morning, I met up with three other moms from MOPS and their kids at a place called The Tanglin Tree which is a restaurant that also has a tree house, sandpit, and lots of toys for children to play with.

From their website: Legend has it that the tanglin tree (also known as the saraca tree) used to grow abundantly around the Tanglin area. Some say that this tree gave the Tanglin area its name. Scour the area and chances are, you will not find a single tanglin tree of the botanical kind. But ironically, take a drive any day along Tanglin Road and you will see that the tandlin tree of a culinary kind, has taken root right right at the corner of Tanglin Road and Grange Road. This is the big yellow and purple tree house with the sandpit in front... Juliana and Elyse enjoyed the wobbly bridge a lot! One time, Elyse fell and Juliana put her hand out to help her up...so cute! Elyse's turn on the swing...

Heading back down to the sand pit...After the kids were done eating, they went back to play while the adults finished our meals and talked. But when I saw this, I had to run over and catch it on camera. They were taking turns pushing each other on the swing!!

When Juliana was done pushing Elyse, she said, "All done" and blew her a kiss...
It was a great place to go and the food was good too. I also must say that the service, in my opinion, was excellent! We were the only ones there, so I'm sure that was part of it, but the staff played with the kids, kept an eye on them while we were eating and helped them up and down the stairs when needed. If you have kids, it's worth a visit!!

Some reading for the lil' beauty

Juliana LOVES her books! While there are some favorites, she rotates through all of them pretty often. She especially loves the books about animals. This morning, she was showing how BIG a giraffe is...

Play gym!!

While I was at my doctor's appointment today, Jean took Juliana to Gymboree for play gym and as once before, she had the whole place to herself!!!

Jacob liked this picture of his little girl holding a basketball... I'm guessing she was dancing...She's getting so strong!! She can hang on to the monkey bars for a lot longer now, without any help...
Happy to be in jail!!!She had a blast, as always :-)

Good morning and a great night!

Right before breakfast, still waking up I guess and hugging Pooh as usual! She seems to always be holding him upside down since that is where the tag is...here favorite part next to his nose. Yesterday, after work, Jacob performed a Dora the Explorer play for Juliana...
...she really enjoyed it!
This was after dinner...she kept trying on all her shoes and hats, then grabbed her purse, put these shoes on and said, "Bye bye." Such a CUTIE :-)
